Rolling 4 week figures

1st 4 weeks: -5.9
2nd: -4.5
3rd: -5.4
4th: -3.0
5th: -5.2

Noddy, can you what some trend lines in for these data? I’d be using a log or exp trend, though, as I’d hate my loss to go negative!

What do I read from this? I am still not reaching the giddy heights of the first four weeks, although it’s not too shabby an effort for the last four weeks. The fourth data point is the only one (so far) to include two weeks where the balance went up, so is perhaps an anomoly in some respects.

If current trends continue, by the time the 7th data point comes in (Week 11), there is no way I will be losing more than 5kg over a four week period anymore :( Ah, for those halcyon daze…

The more I play with this, the more I think that the 4 week rolling total is a better (although more sophisticated => requiring a higher level of analysis) than the week by week figures.

Does anyone know what a small choc chip bikkie is worth (I would guess 1.5 pts). It was about the size of three 20 cent pieces stacked up on each other. Tasted quite buttery.

Ciao,
PE

wahhhhwhooooogahhh

I just went to the City branch of WW and it was chockas. If you are going to go there i would make it so you get there extra early and still be prepared for a wait (could have made the obvious pun here). I didnt stay for the talk because i dont have that long a lunch time and without the rest of the crew of evil henchpersons it probably wouldnt be much fun.

And i lost 1.6 k (currently weighing in at a svelte 101.6. I am a middlewight, thats where all my weight is.)

I reckon i am going to hit my 10% target in two weeks. I say this due to my extreme extrapolative innnate statistical abilities and that i am going away bike riding and bushwalking in the Grampians with a bunch on health fanatics the weekend before.

A quick test

In order to understand your best approach to losing weight here is a little personality test for all y’all.

My First Entry

Hi All,

Paul has arranged access for me to post and I’ve just noticed the name of your meeting leader – Marti. Would this be Marti Van Straten of the shaking hands? If so, she’s the same leader as I have here at work and all of a sudden her shakes are becoming more understandable.

Maintenance is proving hard. It’s a battle to not go back to the same old eating habbits but your body turns against you and there’s no way back. I had some fried food last week and paid for it big time! Massive heart burn and feeling awful. I’ve been back on the 18 points this week to take of the weight I put on in the last 2 weeks and then hopefully back to the 21 points. It’s hard to think that this is the rest of my life…

Cheers
Nic

Okay, stats done for Paul

Okay, the stats are in, and Paul is likely to make BMI 25 (around 90 kg) first… around May.

Tells me it’s time to put down the Tim Tams, crack open the unused tracker and start tracking.

Woo hoo!

Down a further 2.1 this week! That is 5.2 kg on the rolling 4 week cycle! Excellent!

Nodster, here’s some numbers for the nine weeks for me, in kg:

118.3
115.7
114.5
112.3
112.4
111.2
109.1
109.3
107.2

Cheers,
Paul

What I would like someone to ask

“Marti, I’m baking a batch of cookies on the weekend, and I’d like to know: how many points is 2 tbsp of mairjuana worth?”

Photos – and time for more!

I’ve uploaded the photos from a few weeks ago, but it’s week 8 for us on Monday. TIME FOR MORE PHOTOS!

Also, if you could e-mail me your weekly weight stats, I’ll make up Excel graphs and stick them in your little area at the top of the page. Check mine out for an example.

This is what lots of bonus points looks like

Before:

Clearing starts:

Which becomes (after buying new plants to replace the dead ‘uns):

At 6 points every 30 minutes for big fat blokes like me, the above clearing and planting represents some 36 points. I wont use it, but it’s really cool that there’s a visible outcome of the exercise points.

Anyone is free to come along and help with weeding^wearning lots of bonus points. :)

RSurreal comments

Re Inger’s idea: The easiest thing to do is to take that day’s cryptic crossword with us, and read out some of the clues, at random, as comments.

I can imagine the following dialogue:

Marti: So, who’s got something to share with us today?
Noddy: A zebra wrecked New Year’s Day near Iran.
Marti: Riiight.Who else did something to help lose weight this week?
Paul: Chore was taxing! So what?
Marti: So, you got some bonus points then?
Paul: 3, 5
Marti: Was it three or five points?
Paul: Lob for cocktail?
Marti: But you used them up on alcohol?
Inger: Bouquet once dented rocket section.
Marti: What?
Noddy: Lateral thinker links singer Conway to Yoko.
Marti: What’s Yoko?
Paul: It’s resentfully held by legend, Barnaby.
Marti: Don’t call me Barnaby! My name is Marti!
Inger: Wild elephant on TV show?
Marti: Hey, come on. I’ve lost a heap of weight since of been on the program. Don’t call me an elephant!
Noddy: Develop fun resort over the hill
Marti: I’m not that old either, buddy, so watch it!

PS DA has prepared a very easy cryptic in today’s age…
