I have put in some hard lifestyle changes this week. I hope they work.
I have started to cut my portion sizes in half at dinner time – regardless of how many points I “have to eat” before bedtime. Trying to keep that meal at or below 6 pts and picking up any hunger cravings with fruit that I haven’t managed to eat during the day or yogurt (ski now make half sized tubs that you buy in packs of 12 which are a point each) . I did well most of the week, it fell over a bit on Friday because I didn’t have a snack during the afternoon (I have this class that is all talking, time flies and I forget to eat the yogurt I have in my bag).
I also feel a bit powerless when we decide to get takeway because I buggered after work on Thursday nights and Luke is the worst cook in the universe. This week it was indian…. bad news. Instead of getting the meal deal which has 2 small tubs of curry, a large rice and naan bread I got one small curry and a small rice. When I got home I split both the rice and the curry in half and put it in the fridge for Friday’s lunch with the rice that luke couldn’t finish from his large serve. To make up the difference I had half the naan bread from Luke’s serve (which is still *bad* – but not as bad as the curry!). I found I was actually really full after this anyway and didn’t need to snack before bed so the points for the day were either under or on par.
So I think Marti owes be a star for that one, and yesterday at lunch I sat in front of a bowl of chips and mayo and *I didn’t eat a single one*. I have also walked at least 3 times this week and I plan to take B to the zoo today so that will be the forth walk. Bring on the scales!
btw Paul, did you get the comment to one of the previous entries about seeing you in the tv show ‘In the realm of the hackers’ wearing a wig? Love your work darling!
Yeah, me with a mullet haitcut! Argh! I’ve got the movie on tape if anyone ever wants a looksee.
Naan bread is evil but oh so nice. Sometimes a good hard look at ones lifestyle and eating habits is necessary and most of the time no bad thing.
BTW Paul wasn’t wearing a wig in that film. That was his real hair and his real mullet. They were all the rage in North Balwyn.
