WW news from SF
Weather good in SF — grouse city. Here’s some interesting WW stats you might want to mention on Monday night:
* Lots of people are either fat or obese. Marti could move over here and be busy for fifteen lifetimes. It is scary. I see why “Supersize Me” is (a) so relevant, and (b) caused so much furore.
* “Low-carbs” is the big thing you see here, not lo-fat
* Ben & Jerry’s have an ice-cream flavour called “Choc chip cookie dough” which sounds shocking, but tastes exactly like it claims, and is bloody beautiful
* there is a kind of chocolate called “Godiva”. Fabulous stuff. Dark chocky around a raspberry liquer
* Nutritional information highlights calories, sodium, carb, and transaurated fats on almost all packaging.
* Queznos is a chain of stores in competition with Subway, and they are sooooo much nicer
* Subways has their 7 subs with < 6 g of fat or whatevere the proimotion is. It’s the only reference to lo-fat food I’ve seen
* How many points is clam chowder in sourdough loaf?
* I have been walking up many hills to work off choc chip cookie dough vs godiva vs clam chowder
BTW, there is a CD store in Berkeley which claims to have over 1 million CDs, tapes and vinyl in the one store (new and used). I went there today, picked up a font line assembly single for $3 (AUD), and the new Future Sound of London for AUD 15.
