1. According to the keynote speech by Steve Jobs, Apple chose to announce the iPhone before they submitted it to the FCC (for approval) and before some person therein leaked the details.

   Thus you will have to wait for FCC to approve the iPhone. Australia, will of course be after that with its ACA.

2. Hey Andrew, I must admit that I was disappointed with the iPhone. Not the innovation, but rather the proposed business model and one design flaw.

   Working here (Australia) on Mobile TV at the moment I can see some flaws in the design for at least the Australian and other markets where mobile Video is gaining ground. The camera points away from the user… great if using it as a camera, not so good if you want to use an iChat or video call…

   I hope that the EDGE network support will work not only with 1900MHz but also 850MHz - shouldn’t be that hard, but will that mean that an Aussie iPhone may not work in the US or vice versa for mobile “broadband”?

   Lets hope that when it arrives in Australia it will be with a carrier I’ll be happy to be with…
